doink   homus || backlog || elsewhere || huh?     what is doink? doink is a place where i put random thoughts, news, and stuff i find interesting/fun. it has mostly devolved into a seldomly updated pseudo-journal. who the hell are you? why, i'm mike manning, and i'm king of the world! actually, i'm just a webhead, just like everyone else. which makes me mike manning, king of the webheads! or not. i grew up in nebraska (yes, on a farm), went to high school in norcal, college in socal. after a brief, miserable stint on the east coast, i returned to L.A., where i still reside. i'm a geek, and proud of it. when not geeking out, i mostly do sports stuff (the usual: baseball, tennis, nude bullfighting, etc.) or read. i read a lot. a lot. i've worked at several places in LA, including recycler.com, Digital Evolution/US Interactive, DE Ventures, IVT, GlueCode, and now LAUNCH/Yahoo! Music. I've also done some substantial freelance gigs. oh, and here's my résumé (and no i'm not looking right now). why would anyone ever come here? believe me, i have no idea. but when i look at my log files, it appears that most people are looking for nude bullfighting. when are you going public? as soon as humanly possible. i'll be traded on the nasdaq, under the symbol GEEK.
