doink   (it's one of those things about nothing) homus || backlog || elsewhere || huh?   Saturday, February 09, 2002 my roommate moved out a few weekends back, and the owners of my building have jacked up the rents substantially during the three years that i've lived here, so i'm now apartment hunting. joy. moving suuuuuuucks. at least i have westside rentals and some time to look around. i've been walking around the neighborhood checking out openings. nothing amazing, but a few places with potential. more shocking than the occasional $1,500 1br/ba apartment is the preponderance of new $700k+ condos for sale. i guess it's my farmboy, small-town background, but i just can't see spending that kind of money on an apartment. heck, even a nice house at that price is a bit of a mind-scrambler for me. i guess i'm either going to have to win the lottery or move out to the inland empire (hi mom!) when i finally get ready to buy a house... (5:25:05 PM) oh, so i guess the olympics have started. wheee. i'm sure i'll watch my traditional 30 minutes of coverage over the next few weeks.
