doink   (it's one of those things about nothing) homus || backlog || elsewhere || huh?   Sunday, November 18, 2001 phew. today we successfully completed our transition of our entire site into the yahoo domain, and transitioned all of our apps to work with yahoo memberships. not an easy feat, especially when it had to follow right on the heels of porting our most complicated application to a new platform. long day. started some db deployments last night, and then started our app deployments at 10:00 this morning. we (of course) had some complications, but we were able to work through all of them in pretty decent time. for a change of this magnitude, done in the time in which we did it, i'd say things went pretty smoothly. and now i'm tired. can't wait for the 4 day weekend! (10:32:31 PM) Monday, November 05, 2001 what a great world series! i'm also really happy that the dbacks won. the dbacks squad has so many old-school, hard-working players (grace, matt williams, johnson, schilling, etc.) on it that they "deserved" to win. that, and it's time for the yankees to share (even though a world series win would probably have made many new yorkers feel at least a little bit better this fall...). such an amazing finish, though. i thought for sure that the yankees had it wrapped up after soriano hit his home run. and even after the dbacks had runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth, i didn't think they would pull it out. but that didn't matter, since the dbacks thought they could pull it out. determination, talent, and opportunity can make amazing things happen...
