after making a 10 person vacation happen, we had a lot of bills to reconcile. ivan did the math, and then most of use have been paying via paypal and yahoo's paydirect. both are slick and easy, and highly recommended.
they can tap into your credit cards or bank accounts, and you can send or receive any amount of money electronically to or from anyone with an email account and web access. very cool concept. these services are making a big difference for online auction services, from what i hear.
if you don't have a paypal account yet, you can sign up through my referral link, and i get a $5 referral fee (you pay nothing). in fact, you get $5 free for setting up your account. keen! (paydirect doesn't offer a bounty, but since it's integrated with all of yahoo's other services, it's still highly recommended)

had a reunion today with most of the fine fellas i worked with back in the day at recycler.com. cort was gracious enough to host, and we had some great grub, drinks, and company. i'm amazed that we had such a strong team there with such poor pay and long hours. oh, to be young and dumb again... =)
busy being lame tonight. still tired from my vacay and from another mojo show last night, so i'm taking it easy. whee.

spreading the wealth: i've read through most of joel's writings on software development/management, and i agree with a lot of what he has to say. learning is good for you. go. learn.

i couldn't fall asleep last night, so i watched a good portion of nowhere on ifc. straaaaaaaange movie. i was mesmerized by the cast; lots of mid-level young stars in it. i'm surprised i didn't have screwy nightmares though...

the new york times has a silly article on the flow of non-entertainment money back into LA. i especially love the mini-section on eCompanies, and their "learnings". shouldn't they have been able to avoid those things if they were actually good enough entrepreneurs to operate an incubator? too precious.

back from the lake. much (too much) fun was had. i now need a vacation to recuperate from my vacation. pictures to follow this weekend. probably.

from the "duh!" files: boo.com's ex-"Marketing Strategy Analyst" reveals how to avoid their top 10 mistakes. common, common sense. tip #1 should have been: hire some people who have a clue. and tip #2 should have been: listen to them.

whew. finished with taxes for the year. took about 90 minutes to do everything via turbotax.com. now i'm just crossing my fingers, hoping i don't get audited; i have no idea if i filled everything in correctly or not...
(10:34:10 PM)
i've pushed off doing my taxes for as long as i reasonably can, so tonight i'll be struggling with them. looking forward to that...

i of course had a dodger dog. mmmmm.
